What will the apprentice be doing?

  • You will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the quality and engineering inspection team
  • Undertaking Quality and Inspection processes on new and existing production lines
  • Liaising with the manufacturing, design, and tooling departments
  • Dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure compliance

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Qualifications included:

  • Engineering Manufacturing Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Company Training Plan & Assessment.
  • BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
  • Development Competence Qualification (workplace)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - Maths (If required)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required)
  • End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship

Things to consider

Mainly office based with regular contact with tool-room, engineering and manufacturing teams. Must be able to commute to OGM on a daily basis. By own transport or public transport.
