What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Answering phones & transferring calls
  • Assist with the logging of invoices
  • Check & log internal purchase orders
  • Taking care of external clients e.g. making drinks, laying out buffets, tidying the boardroom after meetings etc.
  • Electronically process invoices via either Purchase order or batch processing
  • Assist in preparation of monthly accounts pack
  • Assist in preparation of a variety of regular & adhoc financial & administrative reports
  • Enquiring, arranging and booking couriers for outgoing parcels, both domestic and overseas
  • Distributing the post
  • Manning the door camera & greeting visitors
  • Filing, scanning, shredding etc.
  • Ensuring key movements schedule is up to date
  • Any other ad hoc administrative tasks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College
  • In order to successfully complete the Business Administration Apprenticeship Programme, subject to attending an Apprenticeship Preparation Training Session here at Lancaster and Morecambe College

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
