What will the apprentice be doing?

We have a history of succesful apprentices here at Alphamation, we like our apprentices to have a broad range of experiences here and they don't just watch what is going on, they are actively encouraged to help and are given their own jobs to do, with appropriate supervision.

When equipment leaves the works to go to a customer, they are able to see and appreciate the input that they have had in the finished pieces.

Your role will include:

  • Cutting
  • Welding and assembly work
  • Machining and fitting

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Completion of Engineering Operative level 2 standard, (pathway Fabrication and Welding).

Diploma in engineering operations (skills) level 2.

Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge) level 2
Functional skills maths and English if required.

Working with qualified staff on-site, with guidance from a subject specific Assessor and college training.

End Point Assessment.

One day per week college day release at Dudley College, Advance II, DY1 4AD.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Following satisfactory completion of course, we would look to employ the apprentice in a full-time permanent position.
