What will the apprentice be doing?
The Sandbar Seafood Shack has an amazing opportunity for a budding Chef. If you are passionate about food, cooking and customer service then we want to speak to you. The Sandbar Seafood Shack has established itself over the past two years as a provider of exciting quality food in Chester City Centre. We opened in the New Chester Market on 1st November 2022.
Duties will include:
- Working alongside a team of chefs as we prepare, cook and serve fresh seafood dishes. The classification we search for is of restaurant quality fare at value prices with quick turnaround
The apprentice will also be involved in:
- Supplies procurement
- Food costing
- Menu design
- Customer facing service
- Cleaning duties
- Food hygiene operations
Flexible shifts to be agreed with the employer (around 30 hours total) within the opening hours of Tuesday to Saturday 09:00 - 21:00 plus Sunday 09:00 - 16:00. We want to ensure all members of our team enjoy a good quality of life.
Training will be provided on the job so candidates with a willingness to expand on their current knowledge are valued and welcomed.
Must be a team player and reliable with a passion for food and a willingness to learn.
Salary is competitive alongside tips and perks. After the first 6 months an opportunity to increase the salary based upon performance and a positive appraisal.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The candidate will follow a Level 2 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full Standard as a Commis Chef
- This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College - South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A*-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 1 Functional Skill in the relevant subject
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Future employment following successful and satisfactory completion of apprenticeship.
