What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be:

  • Dealing with enquiries via email, face to face, Microsoft Teams and telephone
  • Greeting visitors arriving at the college
  • Providing with all associated administrative support
  • Approaching students to gather student voice
  • Creating information for reports
  • Running enrichment groups, such as games and social club
  • Creating notice boards
  • Helping to organise events

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Workplace training and learning, together with weekly college attendance - at our Lowestoft Campus - on Wednesdays between 09.30 and 16.00.

Should you not possess suitable concession qualifications, e.g. GCSE in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above, you will also be required to attend college to undertake Functional Skills qualifications in English and Mathematics.

Things to consider

You will be required to spend long periods of time working on a computer but your role will also involve meeting staff and students. Consider travel between campuses, which includes 1 day at Lowestoft for apprenticeship learning. All appointments are made subject to satisfactory reference and evidence checks being carried out - prior to appointment - and you will be required to undergo a DBS check. The candidate will ideally be able to travel to both campuses to work, however, where this is not possible the candidate can be based at either campus, depending on which is more accessible to them for travel.
