What will the apprentice be doing?
The Role of The Trainee Quantity Surveyor is to assist in the wider commercial team and project QS in their day-to-day duties across numerous projects.
Assist in preparation of weekly project costing information.
Assisting with updates of project expenditure and forecasting.
Manage supply subcontractor register.
Gather and collate information for subcontract enquires.
Help assess subcontractor quotations.
Prepare subcontractor orders.
Prepare payment notification.
Prepare invoices
Assist the QS with Final Accounts.
Assist the QS with monthly project cost reporting.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This will be a day release course at Leeds College of Building. It is a Level 4 qualification and the entry requirements are 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English.

CONSTRUCTION QUANTITY SURVEYING TECHNICIAN
You will be allocated a staff Mentor who will support you throughout your training. You will receive other relevant training throughout your Apprenticeship.
We are a small team and you will get the opportunity to work with a range of people.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This will depend upon the individual but we are very supportive of continuing professional development and succesful achievement of the Technician could lead to enrolment on a QS Degree.
This Apprenticeship will include the knowledge, skills and behaviours typically required to achieve Technician status or the equivalent with the industry’s recognised professional bodies and this will be supported and encouraged
