What will the apprentice be doing?
The role is that of an accounts apprentice, primarily involved in the processing of accounts records for various different types of companies and organisations.
Other duties to include:
- Payroll
- Bookkeeping
- VAT return preparation
- Accounts preparation
You will also be involved in the administrative function within the office, franking mail, ordering stationary etc. plus any tasks as required by the business.
The successful candidate will be provided with ongoing, on the job, training and development, provided by a Chartered Management Accountant and other competent staff members.
You will be reporting to the Chartered Management Accountant.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 assistant accountant apprenticeship standard
- AAT advanced diploma in accounting level 3 (if all individual unit exams are passed)
- Level 2 functional skills in English and maths if required
- 1 day each week at college (Blossomfield campus)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Dependent on the candidate, and growth within the company, this role has the potential to become a full-time role (35+ hours) within 2 years of commencement, with ongoing training and development. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain the skills required to become a chartered accountant in the long term.
