What will the apprentice be doing?
- Essentially working with some of our major clients to assist with researching garment shapes, sketching them and creating design packs to forward to factories to develop
- Produce commercial and innovative design solutions to brief.
- Develop product design handwriting, displaying a breadth of design handwriting to ensure customers are happy with the product we provide
- Support the Design team and studio in fulfilling key tasks, to include but not exhaust; matching print colours, buying and returning inspirational samples, managing social media platforms, appropriate emails and telephone correspondence with clients, fabric swatch management and assisting the design team to prepare for clients
- Assist in research, preparation and presentation of relevant and appropriate category trends and supplier meetings
- Demonstrate a good level of research and analytical skills to keep abreast of key customer requirements, market trends and conditions, product trends including technological advancements Ensure the sampling process is efficient
- Produces precise design packs and fulfil delegated seasonal design briefs with commercial and innovative solutions, supported by illustrating/briefing/sourcing key materials and details. Ensure accurate samples are produced
- Maintains comprehensive records of design projects
- Support and assist the design work for small and large design companies, including many high street brands
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 fashion assistant apprenticeship standard
- Level 2 functional skills in English and maths as required
- End point assessment
- A minimum of 6 hours will be spent per week completing 'off the job' training. This will be agreed with the employer upon appointment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- After successful completion of apprenticeship, you will be an assistant designer within Everley Studios
- Additional progression and further learning may also be available
