What will the apprentice be doing?
- A minimum of 27 hours per week in the setting working as part of a team to support the children in our care.
- Shadowing experienced staff to develop skills in children's learning and development, supporting care needs, communicating with parents and offering play opportunities.
- Regular training opportunities both in house and external to build a solid foundation of knowledge for a career in early years.
- We care for children aged 6 months to 5 years so apprentices will learn appropriate feeding routines, facilitating daily outdoor play, support children with toilet training, observing and assessing children's learning alongside keyworkers and much more.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Our training provider offers an online apprenticeship so students can learn flexibly with support at the end of the phone! ELA offer regular zoom meetings, online lessons and set tasks related to the coursework. As the training schedule is flexible, we will discuss this with apprentices individually.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We would love to see apprentices grow in our setting, developing into key workers and leaders/managers. This apprenticeship will also allow students to work in a range of early years settings and move onto further study opening doors for careers such as teaching.
