We are a new nursery opening in Potters Bar in 2023. We have expanded from running as an Outstanding childminding setting. Our setting offers open ended, holistic play opportunities for children under 5. Our small staff team offer experience, knowledge and support to a passionate apprentice, as we started our careers as apprentices ourselves.

    6 weeks paid holiday per year, full time opportunities available for apprentices with salary review, free parking, staff events.

    Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - shifts between 7am and 5pm.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • A minimum of 27 hours per week in the setting working as part of a team to support the children in our care.
  • Shadowing experienced staff to develop skills in children's learning and development, supporting care needs, communicating with parents and offering play opportunities. 
  • Regular training opportunities both in house and external to build a solid foundation of knowledge for a career in early years. 
  • We care for children aged 6 months to 5 years so apprentices will learn appropriate feeding routines, facilitating daily outdoor play, support children with toilet training, observing and assessing children's learning alongside keyworkers and much more. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Our training provider offers an online apprenticeship so students can learn flexibly with support at the end of the phone! ELA offer regular zoom meetings, online lessons and set tasks related to the coursework. As the training schedule is flexible, we will discuss this with apprentices individually. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We would love to see apprentices grow in our setting, developing into key workers and leaders/managers. This apprenticeship will also allow students to work in a range of early years settings and move onto further study opening doors for careers such as teaching.

About the employer

We are a childminding setting based in Welham Green and nursery setting based in Potters Bar. From January 2024, we will be a nursery setting solely based in Potters Bar.
