What will the apprentice be doing?

  • The first year of your Apprenticeship is based on full-time education at Stafford, where you learn practical and theoretical engineering knowledge in a range of subjects
  • In the second year, you will rotate around the business in placements, spending time in our core operations departments. You will also attend Stafford College on a day-release basis and work towards an NVQ qualification in work
  • On successful completion of your level 3 qualification, there may be the opportunity to progress to an HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering, but this will be dependent upon the needs of the business at the time
  • Throughout the apprenticeship, you will meet regularly with our apprentice team to assess ongoing performance

Things to consider

Assessment – if you are selected, you will complete an assessment where your skills in areas such as Math and Mechanical aptitude will be assessed. This is an online assessment that you can complete at home, and you will be sent a link to the assessment. There is no preparation or revision required, and the assessment will take approximately 60 minutes. Interview and Assessment Day – if you are shortlisted following your online assessment, you will then be invited to attend one of our assessment centres in Wolverhampton during the week commencing 3rd July 2023, where you will have an interview, take part in a group exercise, and can meet some apprentices currently in the scheme.
