    Rising to the National Minimum Wage for the age group after 1 year and on qualification will be moved to a salary commensurate with the role, if there is a position available.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The main duties will be to support the team and the school budget holders to mainly process invoices , orders and credit notes including liaising with suppliers, assisting with the processing of sales invoices and the posting of income. It will include working closely with the Schools Senior and Chief Finance Officers and will also include producing data, spreadsheets and reports on other financial matters as required.

Initially the main responsibilities will be to enter and check

·          Orders

·          Invoices

·          Charge card transactions

·          Direct Debits

·          Document Management on Finance System

·          Maintaining and equipment register

·          Supporting Senior Finance and Chief Finance Officer

·          Providing additional admin or support across the school as required

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN).

You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan.

Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

They may be further opportunities for training as this route is part of our succession planning, however this is not guaranteed.

Things to consider

Applicants must be 18 or over due to being a school environment with Students up to 16 years. This vacancy could close sooner if a suitable candidate is found. For applicants with previous qualifications/experience equivalent to the Level 2 programme, enrolment on the Level 3 Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship programme, may be considered.
