This occupation involves installing a range of roofing materials and products at height. The work is varied and would suit individuals who prefer working outside.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Monday - Friday, between 8.30am - 5.00pm. This will be agreed with the employer prior to placement on the apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Roofing work can involve anything from repairing a single tile or slate on a domestic property, to re-roofing public buildings such as schools, working on new build housing projects, or installing the roof on large commercial buildings
- Roofers can be on site from a few hours to a few weeks, so this occupation should suit those who like to move workplaces on a regular basis
- Use, maintain and store manual tools, power tools and associated equipment
- Install related materials and components to a given specification
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Roofing Apprenticeship and Greenlight Training Ltd will be the Apprenticeship training provider.
The Apprentice will need to attend the Greenlight Training centre in Plymouth for 3 consecutive days per month.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We would like to work with all our apprentices after they have completed and passed their Apprenticeship if they prove to be a good fit for the business. We would look to take the apprentice on as a sub-contractor.
