What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Monitors spend and profitability
  • Update weekly cashflows and forecasts
  • Prepare accrual and prepayment journals
  • Process and review daily and weekly transactions using Sage 50
  • Prepare and process payroll using Cintra IQ

Sales Ledger:

  • Processing monthly and adhoc invoices
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Managing invoice queries
  • Production and review on aged debtors

Purchase Ledger:

  • Ensuring timely posting of supplier invoices
  • Review supplier statement
  • Produce and review aged creditors
  • Credit control
  • Customer and supplier enquiries.
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Project analysis

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Professional accounting or taxation technician Level 4

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN).

You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan. 

Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Professional Accountancy/Taxation Technician Level 4 qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Development into Finance Officer role for the right candidate.
