What will the apprentice be doing?
Our Apprenticeship scheme gives you the opportunity to experience different aspects within the finance team with opportunities to engage with the wider business.
- Working with the Regional Treasury Centre in Luxembourg.
- Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
- Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.
- Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
- Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures.
- Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment.
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files.
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments.
- Timely processing of New Business funding in bank and any other Ad-hoc priority payments.
- Reconcile outstanding items on bank statements.
- Monthly Intercompany Receipts and Payments processing.
- Audit and Sox Compliance.
- Daily/Weekly Treasury Requests – Cash and Banking.
- Performing relevant Month End activities before and after period close.
- Performing Timely completion of Factoring Requests.
- Supporting the wider finance team.
- Dealing with Ad-hoc queries.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Accounting Assistant apprenticeship standard
Level 2 Foundation Certificate in accounting
You will attend Solihull College & University Centre (Solihull site) one day a week during your learning phase.
You will also be visited at your place of work by a business coach every 6 to 8 weeks to support you to build a portfolio of work-based evidence to meet the knowledge, skills and behaviours required. Once done, they will help you prepare for the AAT administered end point assessments, which include an in-tray test and structured interview.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
