What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To assist with maintenance, repair, and inspections using window access equipment (Building Maintenance Units).
  • The role would involve understanding mechanical and electrical aspects of the height safety equipment, which varies from site to site.
  • You will require a head for heights.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the lead engineer on all tasks in a safe, diligent and practical manner.
  • Always conducting yourself in a professional manner.
  • Developing your knowledge through hands on experience.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will attend North Kent College, Gravesend Campus, one day per week during term time to learn the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours to prepare you for the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard End Point Assessment.

You will also receive training in the Workplace including:

  • Working at height training
  • CSCS
  • Eye bolt and fall protection installation and testing

And depending on the candidates current qualification we would look to train in the electrical and mechanical area.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Once you have passed the probation period (either 3 to 6 months), we would discuss your future growth within the company
