What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Develop the skills to prepare and cook a range of fresh produce
  • Learn the skills to work in all sections of the kitchen from starters to deserts
  • Work with the senior chefs to develop new dishes
  • Master the skills to talk to customers on the buffet counter
  • Help to maintain the kitchen and its cleanliness
  • Develop the basic skills of knife handling and cooking skills

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 commis chef apprenticeship standard
  • Level 1 functional skills in English and maths if required
  • End point assessment
