What will the apprentice be doing?
You’ll be working in a field-based role covering a wide range of activities from maintenance, inspection, repair and installation on customers sites with Air Products.
No 2 days are the same within this fast-paced environment. Working alone, as part of a team and problem solving will be skills you will rely on to succeed.
You will:
- Comply with safety policies and practices
- Be given guidance and support
- Engage in the routine maintenance activities, carrying out repairs, diagnosing faults, inspections of equipment on Air Products and customers sites
- Work alongside technical co-ordinators and planners on a daily basis as well as trained technicians and engineers
- Learn ways to troubleshoot on various items of equipment
- Identify and be actively involved in development and execution of maintenance related productivity ideas
About You…
No prior experience is required, you must have a strong sense for safety, bring commitment, passion, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
If you have formal vocational qualifications (engineering or any operational background), it is a big plus.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During the apprenticeship you will undertake 'off the job' training at CATCH in Stallingborough for the first year followed by remaining duration onsite where you will receive specific on the job training.
You will also be supported by a dedicated assessor who will guide and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.
At the end of your apprenticeship, you will be required to undertake an end-point assessment.
Successful achievement of the end-point assessment will lead to final certification of the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.
During your 3 years we would expect you to have developed a variety of interchangeable skills and have an in depth understanding of manufacturing and processes.
