What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Provide support for the servers & network infrastructure
  • Provide hardware & software support for desktop, laptops & Chromebooks
  • Maintain all ICT related peripherals.
  • Order ICT consumable supplies & document product requests
  • Maintain a fully up to date inventory of all hardware & software
  • Install & configure various software
  • Network equipment, upgrades, and new network installations
  • Administer user groups & accounts
  • Offer advice & training to system users
  • Backup checks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprenticeship training will be delivered in a state-of-the-art classroom environment, from the EMA Digital Hub on Siddals Road, Derby.

The Network engineer Level 4qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into 3 pathways, which are as follows:

  • IT Support Technician
  • Network Technician
  • Digital Communications Technician

The employer and training provider will agree on which is the most appropriate pathway, and this will influence the project as part of the end-point assessment.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
