About the employer

Kernahan of Witney was a privately owned, second generation family-run business which celebrated 50 years of trading in 2008. Owen Kernahan started the business in Oxford in 1958, and is still a regular visitor to the site - indeed he still owns it and we lease it from him! When Rover/MG closed in 2005, Kernahans appointed Ford and became one of the top retail dealers in the area. Following closure of the High Street site in August 2011, Charles Eveson struck a deal with the family to take over the Service, Parts and MOT workshops, already based on Station Lane in Witney. Just like the Kernahans, Charles has petrol in his blood - indeed he first met Martin Kernahan when they were both competing in rallying. All the High Street staff have stayed on following the move, and we are all very proud of the Kernahan heritage. It felt right to keep the well known name of Kernahan alive, and we will ensure that reputation and great service tradition continues at Kernahan Service.
