About the employer

TOG was formed as a voluntary self-help group run by a committee of parents and interested people to help pre-school special educational and disabled children. The group was started in July 1972 initially meeting for 3 mornings per week, however since 1978 we moved to purpose built premises, (2 porta cabins at Bishops Hull), increasing to 5 mornings. As a charitable group we are dependent on our fund-raising activities but we also received a grant from Education, Social Services and Area Health, as well as donations from local organisations, this is now Entitlement and High needs Funding from Somerset County Council only. In 2000 we were lucky enough to have a new purpose built building which was fundraised by ‘The Friends of TOG’ who managed to get donations.
