What will the apprentice be doing?

You will:

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support, including word processing, minute taking, filing routine correspondence, distributing mail, etc
  • Undertake reception duties including answering telephone and welcoming parents/visitors
  • Be responsible for Annual Reviews including setting, collating information, co-ordinating the meetings with parents and professionals, typing up minutes and maintaining the recording systems

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • The apprentice will be supported with induction and internal on-the-job training in their role and will be expected to log the appropriate level of off the job training supported by their workplace mentor

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • There may be further opportunties for work within our school at the end of the apprenticeship
  • A successful apprentice will also gain their Business Administrator Level 3
  • As a school we can support the apprentice to write a CV, prepare for interview and we will release the apprentice to go to interview

Things to consider

There is no guarantee of a role at the end of this apprenticeship, but support will be given. The apprentice could look for opportunities to progress onto a higher apprenticeship, such as School Business Professional Level 4. If the apprentice has not achieved a A-C/ Grade 4 Maths and English GCSE, they must complete functional skills.
