What will the apprentice be doing?
Playhouse Montessori are looking for a passionate, dedicated apprentice to come and join our experienced and qualified team.
The apprenticeship will cover all aspects of early years and you will be expected to:
- Supervise and watch over Children - Nursery assistants are in charge of providing a safe childcare environment. Whether the children are playing, eating, or sleeping, nursery assistants keep a close watch to prevent accidents or injuries this requires a high level of concentration and been alert to any situation
- Plan Daily Activities - Beyond safety, nursery assistants also maintain a fun and educational environment for children under their care. They work closely with their directors and supervisors to develop engaging activities. If the nursery assistant also cares for children with disabilities, they adapt these programs as needed to help everyone feel included
- Understand the importance of Compliance - To meet a child’s needs no matter who is on duty
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Playhouse Montessori will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
- Functional skills in maths and English if required
- This will be delivered through Playhouse Montessori's dedicated training provider, Realise
- Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020
