You will be based at our factory site in Blyth. You will undertake and complete an apprenticeship as a multi-skilled technician covering hydraulic, mechanical and electrical elements. Parts of your role within the business will be to become proficient in operating and using a wide range of machine shop tools & equipment etc.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Your role at Royal IHC will involve the following:
- Become proficient in operating and using a wide range of machine shop tools & equipment
- The individual will be required to work in a team and individually under supervision
- Develop fitting and assembly skills, including hand and power tools
- Undertake training and become competent in the use of site plant & machinery
- Use various items of measuring equipment & instrumentation for assembly, operating and testing purposes
- Develop mechanical, electrical & hydraulic assembly skills
- Gain the ability to read & understand engineering drawings & schematics
- Have a basic understanding of all business functions within Royal IHC Limited
- A proactive approach of safety rules, procedures and guidelines to ensure that the Royal IHC safety culture develops
- Understand the requirement for QA & QC processes & tools
- The role may occasionally require travel and work nationally and internationally as required to meet the needs of the business and appropriate to the role
- Any other duties as directed by line management or SMT member
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Day Release is one day a week at Ashington Campus, Northumberland.
Full Engineering Technician Level 3 Standard
(BTEC or HNC depending on age of apprentice at start date)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Possibility of full time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
