This role will be based in our Maintenance Team in Wisbech looking after our Manufacturing of our pre-cast concrete flooring. This role is based outdoors. It can be a noisy and dusty environment because we make our own concrete and cast our own beams and planks for the flooring.

What will the apprentice be doing?
With the Support of the Maintenance Team Leader:
- Diagnose and fix problems with the Production manufacturing machines and mechanical parts
- Working across Production with all staff to ensure all machines are set up properly and change overs are carried out
- Complete daily, monthly and yearly servicing of all machines
- Escalating any issues with equipment that could cause issues with Production
- Carry out general housekeeping duties
- Follow all procedures in the workplace including Health & Safety
The Maintenance role supports the Manufacture of our pre-cast concrete flooring ensuring that we are able to meet all customer orders and delivery dates.
This will be a entry level role within the department with the opportunity to learn from colleagues in your team including mechanical, hydraulics and electrical knowledge. The team is looked after by a Maintenance Team Leader.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard qualification
- Day release to West Suffolk College
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- This role is an entry level role where you will get trained up to become a Mechanical Electrical Engineer at Floorspan
- Once you have become a Mechanical Electrical Engineer then you can continue to develop further either by studying for more qualifications or developing into more senior roles
- Floorspan is an ambitious growing company and there are likely to be further development opportunities in the future
