As an IT apprentice at Boxtec you’ll have a busy, but varied workload providing support to the IT & Business Systems Manager and business by taking on IT support tasks, at times in conjunction with one of our support partners. You’ll also be supporting business critical projects and system upgrades as part of a small team.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Have a strong interest in IT, specifically IT support for software applications e.g. Microsoft Office, administration e.g. Active Directory and network technologies.
- Be keen to learn new skills and achieve good/passing results within any training or academic studies as part of the apprenticeship scheme.
- Be able to quickly pick up new skills and work to strict timescales when required.
- Possess a keen eye for detail.
- Show strong interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with staff across the business at all levels.
- Possess a “Can do” attitude and take ownership of tasks, issues and resolutions.
- Be flexible in nature to support the IT & Business Systems Manager on other IT projects as required.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team.
- Support new apprentices who may join the Boxtec apprentice scheme.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:
- Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
- Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
- Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
- Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
- Support the information systems needs for your business.
