What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To complete a programme of training within our Production departments
  • To practice and become skilled in the application using of a wide range of machine tools including, but not restricted to, conventional and CNC turning and milling & grinding
  • Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools
  • Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of metrology equipment
  • Training in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using proprietary software packages
  • Carrying out tasks and duties as directed by the Departmental Technical Manager / Supervisor

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Machining Technician Standard:

  • L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Machining) (Development Technical Knowledge)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Full time jobs may be considered for the right candidates
  • Progression to Level 4+ Engineering Apprenticeships or further study
