What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Work with users to resolve IT faults and requests within agreed timescales.
  • Create, maintain and remove user accounts from IT systems.
  • Install, commission and test new equipment.
  • Carry out system checks.
  • Answer IT Helpdesk calls and provide first-line assistance.
  • Work with users to resolve outstanding faults.
  • Ensure that all helpdesk calls are actioned within agreed service levels.
  • Record all call details on the ticket platform.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice, upon successfully completing their apprenticeship, will come out with a Level 3 qualification as an IT Support Technician. The apprentice will take six hours a week outside of their work to complete any learning they need to do, which will be done directly from the workplace. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression from this apprenticeship could be to a level
4 IT-related apprenticeships such as, Network Engineer,
Software Developer or Cyber Security Technician.
