We are looking for an apprentice to join our electrical team. In this role you will be helping to support the day to day activities of the electrical team, to develop an understanding of electrical wiring tasks and be able to perform all requires tasks under limited supervision once trained and to help prepare finished products for dispatch.

What will the apprentice be doing?

·         Supporting the Electrical team with assembling of the controller boxes for the generators

·         Develop an understanding of electrical wiring tasks and able to perform these to your best.

·         Prepare products for dispatch

·         Continuing our coloured coded electrical system

·         Helping to complete Factory Acceptance Tests on generators.

·         Helping to equip work vans for the electrical team to go out to sites.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Level 3.

Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as a Engineering Fitter and will include the following:

Comply with and work within health and safety requirements and company policies and procedures at all times
Interpreting and following drawings/diagrams and/or specifications for required component or assembly
Planning work activity, including resources, equipment and tooling
Producing individual components, for example keys, pipework, threading, wiring looms, interfacing parts, motors, wiring cables
Re-furbishing components
Assembling components to produce equipment, machine or system - in full or part
Quality checking and adjusting components or assembly against required specification; for example testing and calibrating
You will also work towards the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma and produce a portfolio of evidence on which the End-Point Assessment (EPA) professional discussion will be based.

Method of delivery:
A flexible model of delivery is available based on the employer’s needs and can include an optional Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

How will I be assessed?
Successful achievement of the End-Point Assessment will lead to final certification of the apprenticeship. The assessment, with an independent assessor, will comprise of 3 elements:

Project: report including evidence and questioning
Multiple-choice test
Professional discussion supported by portfolio of evidence

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

About the employer

We are a generator manufacture who specialise in creating bespoke generators. We provide all maintenance services for generators and commission and install the sets ourselves. We currently have 22 employees with us and we were established in 2013.
