What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Sales Assistant Apprentice, your duties will include:

  • Receiving orders / stock
  • Putting stock away
  • Booking goods in on the system
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Liaising with suppliers for any purchasing queries
  • Picking customer orders
  • Booking goods out on the system
  • Merchandising trade counter area, ensuring the shop is fully stocked etc.
  • Communicate with customers by phone and e-mail
  • Serving trade and cash sale customers on the trade counter
  • Data input and any other general admin and ad-hoc duties as defined by management

It is important for the apprentice to learn the processes and build up product knowledge so initially their job will consist of goods in and then progress down to goods out.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • BTEC Diploma in Customer Service L2 (embedded in the BTEC in Business Administration)
