QC Laboratory Technician apprentice INEOS COMPOUNDS AYCLIFFE LIMITED
Through onsite work experience with market leader INEOS Compounds supplying PVC compounds to a global market. You will be at the forefront of compound sampling and testing. You will work closely with both the onsite quality team and a dedicated assessor/tutor who is an expert in the field of quality control to guide you through the apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- To carry out product testing to ensure that all PVC compounds are manufactured to the required quality standards, are available for delivery to Customers’, and that any non-conforming product is isolated and recovered where possible
- Environmental testing to ensure the company complies with any environmental requirements
- Incoming assessment of raw materials through processing of CofA’s
- To assist in method development of new techniques where required
- Carry out legionella and water testing to comply with current legislation
- Carry out defined quality assessments of incoming Raw Materials
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The training that will be delivered within this apprenticeship will initialy be in line with the Level 3 Laboratory technician apprenticeship standard however the training will also open out to other areas including the following:
- Six Sigma training
- Problem solving and DMAIC
- INEOS' products
- INEOS' manufacturing processes
- Laboratory polymer testing
- Managing health & safety
- Environmental legislation
- Project management
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- The successful candidate, on completion of the Apprenticeship and having demonstrated the appropriate skills and aptitude, will be supported to develop and progress within the company if a position is available
- The potential could lead to QC supervisor/manager, further input into the site SHE strategy
