We require a suitably qualified candidate that will complement our team of engineers. The role requires an individual with a strong hydraulics and systems engineering background. What will the apprentice be doing?

The right candidate needs to have a good knowledge of hydraulic systems with the ability to work on hydraulic systems across a wide range of industrial markets predominantly in the UK.

Principle role & responsibilities:

  • Working in house and on site to suit business needs
  • Hydraulic power Unit and systems
  • Hydraulic pipework manufacture and assembly
  • Testing of finished components
  • In house hydraulic repair work on a variety of components including hydraulic cylinder repair
  • A knowledge of general fabrication and welding (TIG and MIG) would be an advantage but not essential
  • A knowledge of electrical control systems and PLC’s would be an advantage but not essential
  • On site service and installation work throughout the UK
  • Observe and adhere to company health and safety guidelines and contribute to a healthy and safe working environment

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Fitter standard on an Engineering Fitter pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3 standard
  • During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC training centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the training centre for one day a week for knowledge study

  • Choose one of the qualifications: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) – Awarding organization EAL; GLH 750, this qualification ensures full knowledge to complete the fitting role.
