We have a successful apprenticeship programme and are looking to recruit three additional apprentices to join our team. You will learn fabricator welder skills as part of your college course and in the factory and will be gain other coachbuilding skills as part of your work at Cosby during your apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Training and work will be varied and include welding, fabrication, assembly, manufacturing and trimming.
- As well as learning at college you will also get to learn in the Cosby factory. The tasks you are given will mirror your ability but as you develop and prove yourself then the range and complexity of tasks will increase.
- You will learn to use power tools, workshop machinery, read drawings and a variety of manual skills to a high standard of finish.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of their own work whilst ensuring it conforms to a relevant specification such as an engineering drawing or an international standard. Fabricators are also responsible for the health, safety and environmental (HS&E) protection of themselves and others around them.
An employee would achieve a Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Level 3.
An employee would also achieve an Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Level 3.
Metal fabricator Level 3 (A level)
Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship modules may result in the offer of a full time position as a coachbuilding engineer. This is providing the apprentice works within the company rules and guidelines which will be explained during their induction.
