Apprentice Design Engineer SPELLMAN HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRONICS LIMITED.
At Spellman, you will undertake or assist in the design, development and commissioning of high voltage power supplies, test apparatus and equipment. With guidance, you will test prototype and pre-production units. You will assist with Departmental projects and have opportunities to undertake solo projects supported by our experienced Engineers.

A discretionary, non-contractual payment is usually given to each employee in December. Chance to join the Spellman UK Profit Share Scheme, post probation. Further support and savings are available through the Spellman Employee Benefits scheme.

Working week
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:15 to 17:00 (30-minute lunch break) and Friday 08:15 to 12:45 (no break). Hybrid and Flexible Working options may be agreed, dependent on role. 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays per year.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Assist Project Engineers in the design and development of high voltage power supplies
- Undertake responsibility for verification and validation testing
- Under the guidance of the Project Engineer, perform testing of prototype and pre-production units
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of design and project documentation
- Undertake or assist in the design, development and commissioning of test apparatus and equipment
- As an apprentice you will learn from experienced Design Engineers, to understand how we Design and Test our systems
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- BEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
