Apprentices will be well trained and supported throughout the apprenticeship programme. Role includes, successful team working, personal effectiveness techniques and business finance.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Apprentices will be allocated to one main core team within Network Rail’s Route Services, and over the 17-month programme will get the opportunity to have exposure to different areas of the Shared Services department, to develop their knowledge and skills. Core teams include:
- Payroll
- Human Resources (HR) / Recruitment
- Customer Services Helpdesk
- Accounts Payable
- Data Reporting
Once training is complete, apprentices will have the option to work 5 days in the office or can work 2-3 days in the office and the remainder from home.
The apprenticeship programme will cover the following learning modules:
- Communication & interpersonal skills
- Compliance & data security
- Regulation & change
- Problem solving & decision making
- Supply chains and external market forces
- Business improvement techniques
- Project management skills

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Alongside your duties, you will also be studying towards the level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, which includes learning from business administration specialists
Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if not already achieved)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- Training provided by the employer and online with The Apprentice Academy
- 1 to 1 coaching with experienced coach
