What will the apprentice be doing?
Are you looking for the next step in your education? Are you a get-up-and-go person? Looking to earn whilst you learn? Fantastic! I have an amazing prospect for someone enthusiastic to join the Welby Group based in Bottesford on the Nottinghamshire / Leicestershire border as a Pharmacy Dispenser Apprentice.
As an apprentice pharmacy dispenser, you will be a most diligent person.
Tasks that you will be fully trained to carry out include:
- You will find and prepare and issue prescriptions for patients
- You will need to accurately issue the right medication, the right dose, to the right patient
- You will receive and log prescriptions, make and take calls, deal with queries, and update patient records, thus, communicating effectively with the public, carers and other health and social care professionals to determine their needs, and keep the information confidential
- You will also undertake the ordering, receiving, and maintaining of pharmaceutical stock, as well as complete the end-of-month stock audit

Functional Skills up to Level 2 in maths and English if not exempt.
As part of this apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an End Point Assessment with the awarding body. More details in the link given above.
This apprenticeship is all delivered in the workplace.
You will be given 6 hours per week off the job training included in your paid working week to complete your apprenticeship tasks given.
The successful applicant will receive first-hand bespoke training and exposure from our expert team. This post is to start in January 2023 on a full-time basis for a minimum of 12-15 months.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Potential ongoing employment as a qualified Pharmacy Dispenser once the apprenticeship has been successfully completed - if there is a vacancy at the end.
