What will the apprentice be doing?

As an apprentice in electronic design, you will be working with low voltage solid state sensors for motorsport, defence, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications. You will undertake a wide range of duties and training which will build upon your current academic qualifications in order for you to develop your practical skills. You will be involved in:

  • The design and build of electrical test and calibration equipment
  • Soldering, assembly and calibration of sensors
  • Cable preparation and wiring harness manufacture
  • Automation of test processes

Day to day duties:

  • Keeping the workshop and test lab tidy
  • Assisting the engineers and technicians in their general duties
  • Driving to local suppliers
  • Working pro actively as part of a team
