What will the apprentice be doing?

  • 6 - 12 months of product specific factory training on all aspects of transformer manufacture (factory based). This will include all areas of the business from tender stage through to final test.
  • Maintenance, repair, installation and retrofit of the companies range of Tapchanger and Transformer products, both on site and in our Loughborough factory. Initial 12 months will be factory based.
  • Disassemble, overhaul, fault find, repair, rebuild Tapchanger’s, transformers both on-site and in-works as required.
  • Work to specifications and technical requirements.
  • Undergo training as necessary, to ensure that current and future Health & Safety requirements are met at all times.
  • Work in accordance with on-site risk assessments on every assignment.
  • Provide written reports on completion of each assignment.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Engineering EPNE Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (pathway to be chosen)         

Delivery Method

  • Attendance at college will be required, for example one day per week, term time only.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential Progression into roles such as Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Site Test Technician and eventually into Senior Service Engineer or Service Manager
