What will the apprentice be doing?

As part of this apprenticeship, you will be:

  • Tending to flowerbeds and borders.
  • Hedge cutting.
  • Learning how to do general garden maintenance.
  • Taught the correct health and safety for your position.
  • Dealing with a wide range of customers.
  • Learning about plants that you will deal with, such as the plant development and the different kinds of plants commonly dealt with.
  • Cultivating different soils.
  • Planting flowers, trees and bushes. 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship – Standard. The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace and on-site.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you could be taken on into full-time employment within the company.
