What will the apprentice be doing?

Our Financial Planners provide a holistic financial planning service for both personal and corporate clients incorporating the use of protection products, investment products, pension planning and tax planning. 

We wish to foster a strong talent pool both for now and the future within our financial services company and are looking to offer a Graduate an apprenticeship where they have the opportunity to achieve their potential in a supportive and progressive environment.  The apprenticeship will support your career within Financial Planning and can lead to further opportunities and progression.

During the programme you will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the team to help deliver a complete customer service journey for our clients. This is a great way of expanding your knowledge and building relationships across the business.

A Financial Planner Assistant Apprentice will provide sales support to Independent Financial Planners to assist them in obtaining new business and efficient servicing of existing business.

  • Working on a portfolio of clients within the Financial Planning Team.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports and research for meetings and supporting the financial planner with clients.
  • Recommending improvements to clients’ records, systems and practices and assist as and when needed.
  • Organising and supporting every client as effectively and efficiently as possible to the Group’s standards and to ensure effective completion before review by Financial Planner

Financial Services Administrator Level 3

  • Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the CF1 Financial Services Regulation and Ethics
  • Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Financial Services Administrators
  • Free CII membership for non-members through the CII Aspire Apprenticeship Programme
  • Includes the CII CF1 study book and exam entry
  • CII and EPA resits are to be covered by the employer
  • Fortnightly workshops for the CF1 exam from our CII approved trainer
  • All workshops recorded and available on-demand

Things to consider

New joiners can study towards the relevant qualification in Financial Planning. The qualification covers the financial services market and regulatory context, investment principles, key product areas and technical / advisory skills. The training consists of private study and regular exams as well as on-the-job-training, building not only on your technical skills but also on your personal and professional development. You will have paid study leave to support you in the run up to exams and all course and exam fees are paid for. Wellbeing includes employee assisted programme, counselling, mental health first aider, mindfulness training, mental health awareness training. Holiday 25 days minimum plus 8 bank holidays as they accrue throughout the year, pro rata for part time employees. Opportunity to purchase an extra 3 days, or request up to 3 days unpaid leave. Life assurance 4 x salary Salary exchange Pension (5% employer/3% employee). NI saving for the employer is put into the employee’s pension pot Professional subscriptions paid Paid sickness for all employees (20 days with discretionary after)
