Wilsons Nissan a well-established, large, multi franchise, main dealer in the Surrey area is looking for a dedicated panel technician to work towards a Level 3 in Vehicle Damage Panel apprenticeship standard. You will be mentored alongside experienced body panel where you will learn to prepare and repair vehicle body work to a very high standard.

What will the apprentice be doing?
As an apprentice, you will be mentored alongside experienced paint and body technicians where you will learn to prepare, repair and paint vehicles to a very high standard.
- Be able to prepare, repair and finish vehicles using the latest bodyshop repair techniques
- The role will include the use of correct repair tools to carry out the work to the highest possible manufacturers standards
- The role includes body panel replacements including alternative compound replacement panels and fixings such as welding and bonding techniques
- Surface panel repairs include removal refit and preparation
Work as part of a team under supervision - Acquire the ability to select and use modern repair techniques such as reinforced plastic carbon and the use of modern tooling to aid in the repair process
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training to be provided:
- Level 3 Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths if required
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Upon completing the apprenticeship, you may wish to progress on to a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician or expand your interest into custom bodywork design such as fabrication of metals, plastics and composite materials for the automotive trade, offering specialist bespoke fabrication
- Other opportunities available will be a level 4 management role and vehicle damage assessor
- Becoming an employer, yourself running your own body shop such as crash repair and paint specialist
