What will the apprentice be doing?
Dickory Docks Day Nursery are a large day nursery, located in Tilehurst, Reading. We cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years and would like a Level 3 apprentice to join their team.
This role includes:
- Sharing in the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in the nursery
- Assisting in the daily domestic management of the nursery, including ensuring the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times
- Contributing to the planning and implementation of appropriate programmes of activities for the children
- Ensuring all record keeping on the child’s development is in-line with the nursery’s policies and procedures, and to respect the confidentiality of any information received
- Liaising with parents and encouraging their involvement in the aims of the nursery and in all aspects of their child’s/children’s care
- Helping children with feeding, changing clothes, toileting etc.
- Ensuring each child is collected
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional Skills in maths and English
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- End Point Assessment (EPA)
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Dickory Docks Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
If successful, you will complete a level 3 early years educator programme, delivered through Dickory Docks Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise.
