What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Wire and crimp cables as per electrical schematics issued
  • Layout, drill and tap the backboard to a specified design
  • Drill and cut door for all furniture
  • Interpret electrical schematic drawings / specifications to build control panels
  • Mark up control panels and prepare for mechanical fixing
  • Populating and laying out control panels
  • Wiring control panels
  • Testing of built control panels
  • Booking out stock and allocating to the correct job
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and standards set by the company

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will follow HETA’s syllabus to obtain a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard

You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience.

Applicants will start their training at HETA however from Easter will then return to site on day release for the remainder of year 1 and into year 2 to continue with the Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship candidates can be offered a full time contract of employment.
