What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Support the team in the day to day running of the nursery
  • Plant husbandry
  • Watering
  • Unload deliveries
  • Restocking
  • Labelling
  • Directing customers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Day release into college at Berkshire College of Agriculture campus based near Maidenhead
  • Learners will work through their E-Portfolio throughout their programme and will have an independent end point assessment at the end of their programme
  • Maths and English Functional Skills may be required dependent on GCSE grades, these are a part of your day release to college if required
  • Emergency First Aid – Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides
  • Level 2 Standard Diploma - Horticulture Operative.
