What will the apprentice be doing?

The job involves digging, filling skips, moving materials, and working in uncomfortable weather but it is hugely rewarding to gain the skill and experience necessary to create gardens and driveways that stand out from those created by competitors and go above and beyond our clients' expectations. You will be trained at work in the correct, safe, and efficient use of various small machinery and the correct methods and procedures that we use. The role will give you the opportunity to progress, as you gain skills, to a standard where you will be able to complete any landscaping project from start to finish to the highest standard.

  • Weekly day release into Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA)
  • Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths & English if required
  • Assessor visits to employer every 6-8 weeks

About the employer

Paul trained in horticulture at a College for three years achieving an award for the best horticultural student for his year. During his time at college as part of a small team, Paul helped to design, build and showcase an award winning garden at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. He went on to work for a number of well-known nurseries gaining extensive knowledge of plants and a passion for gardens. Paul moved on to work for a well-established local Landscaping Company gaining intricate knowledge and first-hand experience of the best landscaping practices before moving on to start Garden Creations. Paul has combined his passion for plants with his technical abilities in landscape construction to ensure that Garden Creations provides an unrivalled service designing and building original gardens to the highest standard.
