What will the apprentice be doing?
- To carry out development activities taking place within the new R&D centre
- This will include operation of the robotic development rig and carrying out experiments recording results and writing up reports. Learning about inks, paints and print heads from in house and external sources
- Ensuring that the development area is always operated in a safe and tidy manner suitable for customer visits
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
- Company Training Plan & Assessment
- BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
- Development Competence Qualification (workplace)
- Level 2 Functional Skills - maths (If required)
- Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required)
- End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Paintbox are building the R&D team from the ground and this apprentice will have the opportunity to stay in R&D and grow into a bigger role or to branch out into applications or operations and the technology is rolled out and industrialised
