About the employer

The first Teddy Bear School House Nursery opened on 5th September 1997. Following the birth of my son, I discovered that I faced a significant problem finding good quality childcare at an affordable cost. I was looking for a home away from home where he could thrive, have fun and enjoy his early years. Equally important was a stimulating environment conducive to early learning, which would allow maximal personal development. The Teddy Bear School House Nursery aims to achieve the goals stated above with emphasis on caring and learning. Indeed this is reflected in the name of the nursery, emphasising the child centred approach along with our dedication to early learning. Each of our facilities is intentionally kept small ensuring that your child does not get lost in the crowd. Individual attention to each child is given as required addressing his/her individual needs. Our experience as a nursery provider led to membership of the working group for the Hackney Education Early Years Curriculum Guidelines for babies to three year olds published in 2003. On invitation, I currently sit as school Governor to two schools. One is a children’s centre in the London borough of Hackney and the second is one of the oldest independent preparatory schools in the country.
