What will the apprentice be doing?
- Help to maintain and improve existing systems and processes
- Identify, co-ordinate and resolve incidents as quickly as possible
- Complete general IT administrative duties to support the company
- Manage and facilitate effective standard operating procedures and policies across our homes.
- Configure, install, and maintain user software and hardware
- Maintain and monitor our backup systems
- Moving / re-deploying technical equipment across sites
- Maintain asset register
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprenticeship training will be delivered in a state-of-the-art classroom environment, from the EMA Digital Hub on Siddals Road, Derby.
The qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into 3 pathways, which are as follows:
- IT Support Technician
- Network Technician
- Digital Communications Technician
The employer and training provider will agree on which is the most appropriate pathway, and this will influence the project as part of the end-point assessment.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, the apprentice will have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 4 Network Engineer programme as part of a structured professional development plan
- The organisation are hopeful that apprentices will stay on after the apprenticeship to continue building their careers within IT
