What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties to include:
- Assist carpenters with 1st and 2nd fixes.
- Taking responsibility for basic carpentry jobs once training is provided. To include measuring, cutting and assembling materials.
- Moving materials to and from the site.
- Keeping the site tidy.
- Occasionally assist the other tradesmen if needed.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be working towards a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship Standard.
You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.
You will be required to attend Cornwall College St Austell on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the candidate will have the option of employment or self-employment as a carpenter.
