What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily duties will include:

  • Animal Husbandry including Young Stock

  • Feeding

  • Bedding

  • Milking

  • General Yard Work

  • Pressure Washing

  • Cleaning

  • Scraping

  • Tractor Driving

  • Fencing

  • AI and Foot Trimming if willing to learn

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards a Level 2 General Farm Worker Apprenticeship Standard.

You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.

You will be required to attend Duchy College Stoke Climsland on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

Mandatory qualifications included in this apprenticeship are:

  • Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, which is a minimum of 1-day course (Ofqual regulated)
  • City & Guilds Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Lantra Safe use of Pesticides’

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full-time employment at the end for the right person.
