What will the apprentice be doing?

In this position you'll support the existing Workforce Development team and Head of Workforce Development in administering staff development opportunities for the College, in addition to wellbeing and equality initiatives.

The Apprentice Administrator must be confident, organised, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a good telephone manner.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with all aspects of our staff learning and development process
  • Dealing with general correspondence
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries and message taking
  • Supporting training events: contacting providers, booking venues, co-ordination of delegates
  • Maintaining electronic filing systems
  • Promotion and marketing internal learning events
  • Administration of the Learning Management system for e-learning.
  • Supporting surveys and internal skills audits
  • Assist with roll-out of compulsory e-learning programmes and enrolment on the Learning Management System
  • General office duties: room bookings, raising purchase orders and processing invoices, electronic diary management
  • Data input duties and to assist with the preparation of reports using College / Northern Skills Group Information systems
  • Taking telephone and other telecommunications messages
  • To undertake general filing of electronic and paper correspondence for Directorate / Department
  • All non-confidential word processing
  • To assist staff in preparation of learning materials (where appropriate)
  • To facilitate the use of a Multi-Functional Device (MFD) for Directorate / Departmental staff
  • To keep Directorate / Departmental notice boards up to date.
  • To assist with enrolment
  • To support staff in receiving visitors to the Directorate / Department
  • To actively show a commitment to the Directorate / Departmental Strategic Objectives
  • To show an active commitment to the College's Equality and Diversity Policy, Quality Frameworks and Health & Safety Procedures
  • To actively participate in Continuous Professional Development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the College
  • To carry out such other appropriate duties commensurate with your skills, knowledge and experience
  • The College may, in consultation with you, need to vary these duties from time to time in order to respond to the changing requirements of the College
